An environmental review is a process of reviewing a project and its potential environmental impacts to determine whether it meets federal, state, and local environmental standards.

The impact of new construction on the environment is important to consider. The review assesses the environmental impact on the area work is being performed, outlines the potential causes, identifies any positive or negative effects on the environment, and highlights any alternative actions or inactions to help make the project better.

Adding new lanes or a new road can improve traffic flow through the area. The additional lanes increase the person-carrying capacity of the roadway. A new road can draw vehicles away from nearby congested roads and improve the flow of the surrounding road network.

  • Provide additional roadway capacity
  • Help the flow of traffic
  • Reduce idle time for vehicles
  • Improve the safe and efficient flow of traffic
  • Improve circulation, safety, and overall connectivity

As with all large construction projects, there will be unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – we apologize for the noise, dust, lane closures, traffic delays, and any other impacts or inconveniences. Once construction ends, the many benefits of this project will be enjoyed by the residents and businesses in the corridor, as well as by all motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians who use this part of Corral Hollow.

Stop lights benefit the public by providing orderly movement of vehicles, improving safety, reducing travel times, and increasing the amount of traffic that an intersection can handle. A signal is a valuable device for improving the safety and efficiency of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. In particular, signals may reduce certain types of accidents, most notably, right-angle (broadside) collisions.
